It started with Phil, who explained our options very clearly in a move that came with some complications (storing our belongings while we waited for the sale of our Tampa home to be final). Kelly was our contact after that. She was patient, attentive to detail and always empathetic. On Moving Day, Danny and his crew were wonderful. They were efficient, careful and professional on Day 1 in Tampa, which went smoothly; and at our destination, where things were not as smooth because an error at the storage site. But the moving team did not complain. Although we wound up with a slightly smaller storage unit, they made sure everything fit and was well cared for. From start to finish, communication was great and the company did all it could to minimize stress. I would absolutely use them again.

First Class accomodated every aspect of what was a complicated move that involved coming in and packing things after we had already left, picking up from two locations with smaller, shuttle trucks, reloading it all onto a big rig, then having to deliver it all to two different locations, again, in a smaller shuttle truck, which is no easy feat. As with any move, there were some unexpected surprises and things that had to be contended with along the way, but I can’t say enough about the crew who transported every single one of my earthly belongings across an array of states and delivered it all with such good cheer, competence, helpfulness and attentiveness. My thanks go out to them — Lazlo, Jose (aka “Papi”) and Mikey — for making something as fraught as a big move into such a positive experience and dealing with anything that came up along the way with great attitude and problem-solving skills. The delay we experienced due to a mechanical issue worked out to our benefit in the end, so don’t sweat the small stuff. Laszlo certainly didn’t and we just can’t say enough about them. They worked tirelessly with good cheer and genuinely like working together — all of which made an incredible difference and left everyone on our end with big smiles on our faces which is something you don’t expect to be wearing after going through one of life’s more trying ordeals. They took care of everything and magically made making a major geographical move into a memorably happy experience. They also became local celebrities here, astonishing everyone by getting their trucks in over some notoriously precarious hills. They deserve kudos all around!I shouldn’t fail to mention how I wound up choosing North American. I had used them over a decade before to move to their home base of Florida from up north and also had nothing but praise for the people involved in that move and North American as a national company. After all of the stories of awful things happening with peoples’ things going missing, being held to ransom or disappearing or being destroyed, I decided to get quotes from two additional companies, because my move was complicated and involved not only all of the logistical complexities mentioned above, but transporting a Sleep Number bed, a car, some large paintings and a rather heavy incumbent stepper and sleep recliner. The first company told me that they didn’t transport vehicles and didn’t KNOW how to break down Sleep Number beds, so I would have to find other people to do those things on my own. I felt the move spiraling out of control already. Steve Gates arrived on time and presented in a very professional manner and dress that we haven’t seen in a very long time. He asked questions about the details of my move and told me First Class had people to do all of these things — disassemble the Sleep Number bed, crate the art and ship the car — and all of it would be included in their price quote and not to worry about all of the difficult logistics I outlined of how my dream move would unfold, that they would take care of everything. The third company (which advertises extensively on TV, widely promoting the safety aspects of their services) said they could also take care of all of these things for me, but their quote came in at DOUBLE what First Class’s was, while the other company, was 30% more expensive without the car or the bed. In fact, First Class/North American’s quote was only $1,200 higher than my move with North American 11 years ago, even though I have twice the stuff now and a much bigger car and art to be crated — astonishing! Amazingly good value for the money and expertise, so, of course, I went with them and I hope you will, too!

Kelly helped us move our brother and sister-in-law to Washington State. It was a small move, but could have been very overwhelming as they are in their 70's. I have had several horrifying experiences with movers in the past. I found first class on the Better Business Bureau website. My experience truly was first class from my first call to get a quote until the time my movers left. Thomas was the Head of the two man crew that performed the move. He was very communicative And he and his partner were extremely efficient. It went smooth and they were flexible with any special requests I had. Kelly was my moving coordinator and was amazing as well. She made sure I had no further questions prior to the move and when she called on moving day to see how it was going so far I told her it was actually already done and had nothing but praise to say to her. I will definitely use this company again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone reading this.

I just recently had the pleasure of using First Class Moving Systems to move from Mechanicsburg, PA to North Myrtle Beach, SC. The entire process was made extremely easy using a video app to walk around my home denoting that was moving and what was not (sold, given away or trashed). The lead coordinator Angle Vanderwood was extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with and able to manage every question I had. I actually had a preliminary moving estimate done, and as I got closer to the move date, and a second move estimate done, having reduced the amount of items to be move. I was also able to prepack several items which saved me money that I would have had to expend crating them. Angel connected me up with Danielle Havens, my relocation coordinator. Danielle too was awesome. She was extremely easy to work with and did an outstanding job in keeping informed of the timing of the move, from packing and pick up, to delivery and unpacking. She coordinated my initial contact with the driver who was going to transport all my belongings to Myrtle Beach. Danielle, was in continuing contact with me from the arrival of the truck on moving day and was back in touch with me on arrival and unpacking day. The whole process couldn’t have gone smoother. My truck drive Benard was nothing but exemplary. He reached out almost a week before my move to ensure he had the right address, confirmed the pick up timing, and coordinated with both the initial team of packers, and coordinated the unloading and unpacking team. Benard was a consummate, professional, and engaging. From overseeing the loading and unloading of his truck, to performing and inventory and ensuring everything was perfect and secured for his transport. He was funny and engaging, and ensured the packing and unpacking teams worked together as a team. Moving is a very stressful event and everyone at First Class Moving Systems did everything in their prevue to make sure every was as stress freeI as possible. I even got a call from the COO of the corporation Will Fallon to touch base to ensure I was happy with their service. I made an appointment for 3PM on a Monday. No show -- no call. I called and was rescheduled for Tuesday at 2PM . On Tuesday at 10:30AM, Phil the agent called me and said he wanted to come at 11AM since he was ahead of schedule. I was at a meeting and had another one after that. I told him I was scheduled for 2PM and he insisted coming earlier. So I had to change plans and he came at 1PM. very rushed did not go over anything with me. Said he would e-mail me the results. I felt because I was a single woman that he was so unprofessional with me. I needed a one on one explanation. I called the next day and he did not give me the information I needed satisfactory. I still do not understand why It will take 3 days to load my 1 bedroom apartment that had very few items and 2 weeks to make my delivery. The process started back in January with estimates and working out the logistics as we had to move twice because of early closing on our Tampa home. She was able to help eliminate the new owners anxst by povideing more help. The move from the 8th floor was smooth, professional staff was very accomodating and effecient. The moving staff worked very hard to help make the move painless. We had the truck arrive to our new home later than usual because of a late closing.
